If I may be so bold as to quote Salinger, as I think it's quite apropos:
(from Franny and Zooey)
"Your facts are always either untrue or exaggerated, but you're never wrong - no, no."

Fresno International Film Fest (of sorts)

So, Saturday, the Boy and I (and Mike) went and saw Shaun Of The Dead at our local multiplex. I didn't think Elli could deal with a gut-muncher now that she get's queazy at the sight of spaghetti (thanks pregnancy!), so she went and saw Maria Full Of Grace. Elli quite enjoyed it. Shaun Of The Dead was pretty well packed and went over quite well. Later that night the Boy and I went and saw Tae Guk Gi: The Brotherhood Of War. EVen that, a subtitled Korean flick, was fairly well attended. And there even some other caucasians! Maybe this is another sign of the apocalypse...good movies in Fresno?!?
Let's keep this trend a-going.

Word of the day

OK, actually two:
(from Dictionary.com)

Pundit \Pun"dit\, n. [Hind. pandit, Skr. pandita a learned man.] A learned man; a teacher; esp., a Brahman versed in the Sanskrit language, and in the science, laws, and religion of the Hindoos; in Cashmere, any clerk or native official. [Written also pandit.] [India]

Interesting that we now use this word to refer to political doubletalkers and party shills...

Shill, n : a decoy who acts as an enthusiastic customer in order to stimulate the participation of others v : act as a shill; "The shill bid for the expensive carpet during the auction in order to drive the price up"
