The Shortwave And The Calling from the Washington Post
Actually, this article turned up (under the title "Shortwave Shocker") in this morning's Fresno Bee. So, I thought I'd go to their website and send the article to Vance, but I couldn't find it on their website. Grabbed the paper and saw that it was from the Washington Post, so I browsed yonder to their site and found that it was an article from Tuesday the 3rd. I guess the Bee considers it news as long as the story came out with the last month?
Anyway, The Conet Project has apparently been re-released. And this is nice little article on Akin Fernandez, the guy what released it.

Spooky Olympics

Watching the Olympic gymnastics with the wife (it IS her TV after all).
After a balance beam act, NBC's intrepid camera followed the intricate act of the Team USA group hug and high five. During a lull in the incessant commentating, Elli and I noticed the music playing in the background, presumably for a Romanian - or maybe Ukrainian or perhaps even Russian, Elli's not really sure who the Hell's on board right now, what with all the "Earlier Today's" they're doing - floor act. They were using Goblin's Profundo Rosso/Deep Red theme. I've always wondered if there'd ever be decent music played for this kind of stuff.
Neat.
