pg 218:
"In Belgium I remember we got a good-size crowd, because I suppose we started to get a bit of press by then," Jonny recalled. "While we were in Gent, Jason broke a string and didn't have a spare guitar. So everyone left the stage except me. I was mousing around the stage squeaking like a mouse. I suppose you had to be there...but it was hilarious! Then, later on, Jason broke another string and up came the shout, 'Bring back zee mouse!' A light interlude in the life of a seriously uptight drone band."

Daily Drink May Protect Brain in Old Age, Study Says
Booze = Good for Brain
OK, so the study was for "women age 70 and older"...but still, it goes one hope.
"Alcohol at modest levels does a lot of good things,'' said Francine Grodstein, associate professor at Brigham & Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical School. ``There's been growing evidence that the same things that are good or bad for your heart are good or bad for your brain, and it's known that moderate alcohol consumption decreases cardiovascular disease.''

ESA Portal - Sounds of an alien world
Even if I didn't already enjoy the drone, these are pretty cool. Sonic Boom should remix them.

What the president reads
CNN.com - What the president reads - Jan 10, 2005
Bush is more particular, and when he locks onto a book, he shows his trademark discipline, almost always reading it to the last page.

Evildoer Knowingly Came Clean on WMD's, President Charges
"After years of lying about his weapons, Saddam Hussein willfully decided to tell the truth about them," Mr. Bush said. "His treachery knows no bounds."
Genius.

I hope blogging someone else's blogged blog is not a blog foul. In any case, this seems a worthy experiment. I wonder if this'll make premium sake out of the cheap stuff?

Crispin Glover on Letterman
Video @ Contemporary Insanity
I had never actually seen this one. I'd heard tell of it. I even liked to quote it: ""I'm strong...I can kick!"
And the kind folks at contemporaryinsanity.org have been kind enough to post it.
Bless them.

Whipping new dads into shape
The Enterprise at SouthofBoston.com: "Whipping new dads into shape"
Hmm. I reckon I oughta read this before someone else tells me I should.
"We teach them about putting the baby securely in a baby seat on the running clothes dryer, the white noise of the vacuum cleaner placed within ear shot of the infant, and we also advocate placing the baby back in its crib. Most babies are safe in their crib," he said. "We say (parents can) go outside and scream in the cold and then come back in."
Well, I reckon Maiya will be introduced the works of Flying Saucer Attack and Experimental Audio Research right quick!
